The internet archive is trying to store the internet as it was. So, your favorite cooking site got sold out in 2003, and now displays ads for a fish market instead of your favorite recipes? No big deal, just go to
http://www.archive.org/web/web.php
and type in the URL and ...
It's really pretty neat, try it out.

Sounds very interesting.
Thanks
Neat! I went to the page and typed in www.seti-search.com, and all I can say is I miss using that search engine. *smile* Although you had to always choose what search engine you wanted to use when doing searches (which I didn't mind), the layout of the page was very uncluttered with much other than the search results, meaning you could even get thru the page fast just by using the read-by-paragraph or down arrow keys and the results were right there near the top. Hopefully (since I don't know whether Seti-Search will ever come back), this page will stay up. *smile*
Oh my gosh, I haven't thought about seti-search in years. I used to recommend that to all my students. Could you actually search on it?
Unfortunately, I don't think you can. I tried it, and at first the page was blank or something (well, it wouldn't let me read the page), and the second time, it came up with some kind of error message. I don't know if this would make a difference?, but I'm using the Firefox browser at the moment, so maybe someone can try it with Internet Explorer or something. I wish Seti-Search could just be brought back though. *smile* FOr one thing I don't know whether it still works when used from that archive thing, and also it is slow to open and for the page to come up from there.
I would be surprised if it did work. I think these pages are static in time. I used it to look at some books from www.blackmask.com, who have just been punished for posting copyrighted books. (What a terrible thing.).
